Mumbai gear up for highest tide

With alerts on for the highest tide, that would strike Mumbai coasts on Friday afternoon, precautions are underway to prevent any casualties.
Public has been warned to stay at home especially those living in the low lying areas of the City. A high tide of 5.05 meters is expected to lash the western coast around 2 pm. on friday and this is the first time ever Mumbai is facing probably the highest tide in hundred years. On thursday the City witnessed a high tide of 5.01 mts high which even swept away some of the protection walls. --MP
