Ashok Chavan is new CM
Saturday 6 December 2008
After a long wait, Congress has come up with the name of Maharastra Industries Minister Ashok Chaavan and son of senior Cong leader S.B. Chavan for the post of Chief Minister of the State. Chavan will replace Vilasrao Deshmukh who had to quit on the wake of the Mumbai terror attacks. However Chavan's proposal has been strongly objected by the senior Cong leader State Revenue Minister Narayan Rane who has already expressed his discomfort. --MP
